Commune - Going first

There is always work to be done. Some of it can stop and some of it still needs to happen. But you don’t always have to be the one carrying the pack of the work! This week, take stock of your already-established relationships where you share work like that. Make a list.

What would it be like to invite one of them into a sabbath practice?

How will it involve the give and take of communication? The clarity of intention? The vulnerability of trust? And fun? Notice how it feels when you pause to consider how you could be the one to initiate one or more of those elements!

Give it a shot and see what happens when you communicate your hope for a deeper rhythm of work and rest.

Make sure to celebrate your practice. Even though it will be imperfect. Way to go!

We all will spend a lifetime remembering, practicing and discovering what nourishing, fruitful rest looks like in our lives. It will be different for each of us. And what works for you today may not feel so nourishing or fruitful tomorrow. Practicing something is what matters!

It can really help to hear what others are trying and discovering. So, we are gathering up our community wisdom (yes - yours too!) this series to be edited together and released on June 23.

  • What was your version of this practice?

  • How did it feel to try it? What was it like?

Record a 1-minute voice memo on your phone and share your version of this practice and what it was like! Thanks!
