Where There Is Hope

Undoubtedly, there has never been an era in which hope wasn’t needed and threatened. But today our ability to hope is stretched in a way that is unbearable to many. Are you ready to give up? Is hope pie-in-the-sky thinking? Does realism tell you that hope is naive and it is time to move on and get serious? Or, as elusive as it may be, is hope more important now than ever?

April 24: What Hope Is and Isn’t - You need hope. What you don’t need is someone telling you that you shouldn’t be concerned about things or filling you up with wishful thinking. Together we can be honest about our discouragement, challenges, even our despair, and we can find a place for hope. After all, we aren’t the first ones to rely on hope to find a way into the future. May 1: Hope Exists Where You Have It - Waiting for hope? Actually, hope is waiting for you. Hope is only needed when something is wrong, broken, missing. Someone needs to claim that it can be right, mended, found. Maybe you. Will you? There is all the reason in the world why it won’t happen, but hasn’t that been the case a million times before? May 8: Hope with a Plan - You’ve heard it said that hope is not a plan. It isn’t. But hope can have a plan! In fact, that is the purpose of hope; to inspire you with possibility to see what could happen next, and passion to try it. Hope isn’t an emotion, it’s a choice. May 15: Hope with a Plan - pt 2 - There is a problem with hope…It’s hope not certainty. Even with a plan, hope can sometimes be hard to hold on to. Maybe most of the time. But hope without a plan isn't hope at all and while there is no sure fire method for realizing hope, there are pieces of the process to carry with you on the journey towards it. May 22: Stories of Hope - You are not the first person to be ready to give up, nor to accomplish what was thought impossible. Neither shall you be the last. We all live with the fear and wonder of hope. Something that makes hope grow within us is hearing each other's experiences with hope. I need to hear yours, and I need to share mine.
