Better Than Better

Whether it’s a new year, a new relationship, job, school or a brand new morning - the hope and resolve to do better or be better is human. And better is just, well, better…right? But what about the times when it isn’t? What about the times Better ends up making things worse? Or those times when Better just isn’t possible? You can keep chasing it anyway, or you can follow your hunch that there is something Better than Better. Starting February 20 we’ll go there together through Sunday gatherings, weekly podcasts and groups. What could be better than that?

February 20 - Better Than Better Self: Self-improvement is bigger than ever. The pandemic has given people permission to live in pajamas, and the time to focus on being better, stronger, healthier. What’s bad about that? Except… all the comparison. Better than what and who? And is that really how life is supposed to work? Should you, can you be better and better everyday? Or is there something better than better? Folks, this is a real problem. We need to talk! Listen to the PODCAST as you follow along with the EPIDOSE PAGE.

February 27 - Better Than Better Conflict: That’s simple, right? It’s winning! Oops, that’s just ‘better’ not ‘better than better’ conflict. So, is better conflict no conflict? Can’t be, there is always conflict! So what’s better than better conflict? Is it conflict that…gets somewhere? That puts pieces together rather than makes more of them? Hmm, sounds good, but how do you do that? After all, we’re not talking about whether we’ll have Mexican or Italian for dinner, this is real stuff we are fighting over. I guess you better join us and find out! Listen to the PODCAST as you follow along with the EPISODE PAGE.

March 6 (in-person @ Field School) - Better Than Better Communication: “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” These words are attributed to George Bernard Shaw but, sadly, many of us have learned the hard way and could have said them ourselves. It matters to be understood, convey information and even see minds change! But when those are the goals of improving our communication, we will end up frustrated, at best. Let’s look again at where better than better communication starts and what it seeks. Our relationships depend on it. See you at Field School! Listen to the PODCAST and find notes and related links at the EPISODE PAGE.

March 13 - Better Than Better World: You thought you could do it; make a better world. How’s it going? Chances are no better than any of the other millions or billions who’ve tried. We are still mired in the same messes. So, is it futile? Time to give up? Or is there something better than a better world? What does that even mean? A bunch of Fabric young people have been doing something with their Seed Projects that give us a clue. Let’s see if together we can get a glimpse! Listen to the PODCAST and find notes and related links at the EPISODE PAGE.
