WEAVERS ARE…kids in 4th and 5th grade.
Such an amazing age! Just as a textile weaver would work their yarn into colorful and complex patterns, so are our young people at this age. We look to engage Weavers to take the big emotions and big ideas they are experiencing and connect them to the world around them. Weavers spend time together developing their sense of self and what they care deeply about, sharing and learning from their peers and mentors, and asking questions about the mysteries of what is bigger than themselves!
Weavers find ways to connect! We need you – because when you show up – it matters! You make things more… Interesting - Curious - Fun - Creative - Caring - Silly - Human – and Connected!
Sundays @ 10:30am - Holding On for a Hero
Everyone can get behind cheering for the Easter Bunny, and who doesn’t love a Peep or jellybeans? But, when we think about what was happening 2000 years ago around the story of Easter it gets a bit confusing. Jesus seemed to have it coming for him on all sides! Let’s dig into the story of Easter with eyes that are willing to go a bit deeper so that we can find the hope that helps us see that…We have it coming!
What’s a Mash-Up?
In musical terms it is a creative blending of two or more pre-existing works or songs, for us it’s taking two different tween and teen groups and blending them together to create a time for connection, leadership, and fun! The Fray Middle Schoolers meet every Wednesday evening throughout the school year and once a month the 4th and 5th grade Weavers join in to get in the practice of being part of the group. Mash-Ups are held on the first Wednesdays of the month, usually from 6-8pm and are often out and about someplace where we can be active and accommodate our energetic group!
