Welcome to this conversation
To Get to the Other Side, Episode 10 (aired 8/28): Is This Working Anymore? What voices are energizing me during these strange days as I ponder getting to the other side? Under normal circumstances, I’d be able to list off half-a-dozen authors or musicians without even thinking about it. But, after sitting with that question for a while, I started to realize that I wasn’t feeling energized at all. In fact, the only thing I really felt was...heavy. Fortunately, I was encouraged to have this conversation with two individuals from the Fabric community: Adam Johnson and Eddie Hamilton. Both are Minneapolis artists responding to our current moment through their art. ~Tim Kennedy
Key Takeaways & Homework Practice
Ask yourself, “Is this working for me right now?” - Whatever “this” may be.
“I know things aren’t working right now, but I’m not sure how to find that new space. How do I know what direction to go? For Eddie and Adam it turns out to be more about DOING than thinking…” -Tim
If not, what could you DO to move toward a better space?
Eddie and Adam each talk about their experiences of taking steps that helped them move into a new space. What did you hear in their stories about what it is like when we take action toward a new space without knowing where we will end up?
Check back often to stay in tune
“As a musician I think about tuning a guitar…I think that might be what Eddie and Adam were describing, the peace that comes with being in alignment with God’s rightness.” - Tim
Homework Practice: Experiment this week. DO something small each day with your heart aimed at what “working” might look like. Don’t worry about getting there, just moving. Note one surprise each day.
