Post-Sabbatical Workshop Invitation - Please RSVP
Your presence, listening, questions and hopes are needed on November 5.
Facilitated by Lindsay Walz, this will be a time for our community (including staff) to share and synthesize reflections from the sabbatical and explore what's next for Fabric; both shorter term as we rebuild from the pandemic and longer term as we grow and transition toward a Fabric Minneapolis beyond Greg (as he prepares for a new phase of his life and leadership, aimed for 2024).
Date/Time: Saturday November 5, 10am-2pm. Lunch will be served.
Location: In the lovely new Family Tree Clinic community space (1919 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403).
Please RSVP here. Sooner than later is best - especially if you'd appreciate help figuring out childcare! Everyone, please reply by October 30, 2022.

Sabbatical...a time for rest, rejuvenation, and exploration.
UPDATE: Thank you to those who participated in raising funds for Greg’s sabbatical. We have reached our goal of raising $12,000. Amazing!
You may recall that Fabric applied for a grant to fund a sabbatical for Greg each of the last two years. Unfortunately, it’s highly competitive and we did not receive funding either year. In recognition of Greg’s tireless work for our community (15 years in fact), the Fabric Board and the Sabbatical Team has opted to provide a scaled back sabbatical, with Fabric funding it. This will provide Greg time for rest and renewal as well as a chance to connect with other Fabric-like communities. For Fabric, this will be an opportunity to try new things and to begin thinking about what our community will look like whenever Greg’s inevitable retirement comes. Greg’s sabbatical is planned for Summer 2022.
Making this sabbatical a success is a community endeavor! There will be lots to talk and wonder about through this process, so we plan on plenty of formal and informal touchpoints over the next few months. A big one coming up is our next What’s Up With Fabric gathering on February 28 at 7 PM. Stay tuned here for details.
Moving forward with shared energy and confidence also means lining up the funds together this winter. You can support Greg’s sabbatical in any amount at the button below. The button will take you to Square. Click here to learn about fee-free ways to donate toward Greg’s Sabbatical. Our goal is to raise $12,000 (of total budget of $20,000). The money would be used for:
Costs associated with Greg & Kris' income loss over the sabbatical time.
Compensation for existing staff to fill in some of Greg's roles.
Compensation for outside people who may be helping with the creative process and/or speaking on Sundays.,
Compensation for outside people to work with the staff and community in other discernment capacities.
Expenses for events related to preparing for and digesting the experience by the Fabric staff and community.
Feel free to email us with questions for Greg or the Sabbatical Team. And, as mentioned, stay tuned for an upcoming What’s Up With Fabric event in February…where we’ll talk more about Greg’s sabbatical, among other things.
