The Art of Togethering - Let’s just name it: our nerves, relationships, communities and our ecosystems are frayed. We know there are more together ways of being together! And as much as science has revealed about how we humans and our planet are wired and work, there is an art to being together in life-giving ways that Fabric seeks to cultivate! Join us (adults and kids too!) Sundays in July to experience and explore The Art of Togethering with different Twin Cities artists (lots of them actually!) each week.
July 24: Togethering Through Hard Things with Lindsay Walz - Resilience and beauty can come from some places we would never choose to go. For artist Lindsay Walz a place like that was the collapsing 35W bridge she was driving on in 2007. She was a first-hand witness of how shared disasters can bring us together. But how do we stay together? It's an important question to which there are no easy answers. Join us as Lindsay helps us (kids and grown ups alike!) explore the art and practice of bravely togethering through hard things; and the gifts that have surprised her on the other side.
Courage isn't something that comes at the end of a checklist. It's the result of daily, moment-by-moment decisions - many of which are full of fear. - Lindsay Walz
And check out the post-show interview too! Melissa Lock has a conversation with Lindsay Walz about her backstory as an artist and how we can all see the art within us and at our disposal.
