A post-election gathering for families, friends and neighbors
Whether we know any results or not, uncertainty and big feelings will abound the day after the election. What’s going to ground us right here in our community and in our best selves? What weaves the Fabric we share as neighbors and citizens? And re-weaves in the places that are fraying? There are no easy answers. But being with others asking those questions can bump fear out of the drivers’ seat so our courage, imagination and connectedness can be the drivers of how we show up.
Bring along a neighbor or friend. We’ll let the nature playground and trails, community and the fireplace of Wood Lake Nature Center connect and ground us in what’s bigger than you, me, “us” & “them”. Apples and popcorn can’t hurt either!
When: Wednesday, November 6, 6:30-8pm.
Where: Wood Lake Nature Center (6710 Lake Shore Drive (street map) Richfield, MN 55423)
What: Open house style. Move freely to make it what you need. Outside and inside options. Luminary walk; sensory walk; nature playground; gratitude spirals; playdough processing; a recipe for resilience; popcorn and apples.
At 7:15 there will be singing around the fireplace. Sing or just listen as you sit, move, paint, squish playdough, eat an apple slice or sip a cool glass of water.
Kids: Kids are hoped for! Being aroun
Kids: Kids are hoped for! Being around kids helps adults shift us out of stuck places and inspires us with hope for the future. Being around adults processing big things in honest and healthy ways helps kids feel safe, hopeful and empowered.
Also - from 6:00-8:00 PM young people 4th grade and up are invited to the Fabric Office in S Mpls for some hands-on fun and connection. Ever been part of set building?! Check it out here!
