The Reimagined Songs Project seeks to inspire the creation and transformation of modern spiritual communities.
MUSIC IS WHERE WE START
We’ve created simple “rules” for songwriters to resist the unhealthy, oppressive, and often unnoticed dominant culture of Christianity in music. We have also had several seasons of offering songwriting prompts to inspire creative synergy. The hope is to grow a robust library of Reimagined Songs. From there, we need leaders of existing communities who are seeking new expressions that are more aligned with where their communities are going. Finally, we need connectors to direct artists and leaders who are open to this kind of reimagining to our group. This creates an environment where Reimagined Songs have singers and communities have Reimagined Songs.
Our goal is to create a new library of modern songs for the gatherings of spiritual communities. Yes, in many ways, this project is a commentary on the current state of music and “the Church” but the intention is to learn from the mistakes we’ve seen. The truth is that what “church” has been won’t survive. This is the time when a soundtrack is needed for the reimagining of what inspiring sustained connections could be.
If you’re interested in joining the project as a connector, leader, or songwriter, join our Facebook group, where most of the conversation is happening. If that doesn’t work for you, contact Chris Tripolino at Chris@fabricmpls.com
THE RULES ARE SIMPLE
Songs for this project will engage, relate, be honest, and not distract. There's plenty of room for interpretation about how we do that, but maintaining this focus is essential for creating Reimagined Songs.
